Individual Therapy for Adults:

Research shows that goodness of fit, and a trusting relationship with your therapist, is more important than any specific modality. Yes, I can help teach you new skills, but a large part of therapy is about feeling safe and having a place to explore the tough stuff. In general, I tend to work well with clients who:

  • Grew up in homes with caregivers who may have been struggling with addiction, mental health issues, or illnesses, or clients who are trying to navigate complex relationships with their families as adults

  • Are deep feelers who might have been told that they are “too sensitive”

  • Have learned to motivate themselves with shame and self criticism, but are questioning if that’s really working

  • Want to practice balancing the being vs. the doing, and learn how to cultivate presence
